D Division
Saturday November 10
Jimmy's Stored defeated
Sports Palace by 6-1 in their final game of the fall season.
William Stenson scored the only goal for Jimmy's Store in the
first half which was answered by Sports Palace's Josh Peck.
In the second half, Abigail Cerruto scored directly from a corner
kick. Additional goals for Jimmy's Store were made by Nick Cerruto
on a penalty kick, Kayla Humphrey, Nate Patenaude, and Hunter
Reese. David Cilfone, Amanda Welch, and Casey Kulinski all had
several attempts on goal. Melissa Pfeffer, Rachel MacDonald,
and Marc Franceschett provided consistent ball movement in the
midfield. Jon Kulinksi and Arianna Stone were strong in the
defensive zone. Jimmy's Store ended its season at 7-1-1.
Saturday November
10
Jimmy's Store defeated
Scoville Plumbing by a score of 3-1 in their final matchup of
the fall recreational soccer season for Torrington Youth Soccer.
Abigail Cerruto scored for Jimmy's Store and Dylan Walker of
Scoville Plumbing answered that goal before the end of the half.
Marc Franceschett had several saves for Jimmy's Store during
the first half. Melissa Pfeffer scored the first goal of the
second half on an assist by Hunter Reese. Abigail Cerruto scored
the final goal for Jimmy's Store. David Cilfone, Rachel MacDonald,
Nick Cerruto, Nathan Patenaude, and Will Stenson all played
strong offensive games for the Fruity Pebbles of Jimmy's Store.
Amanda Welch had several saves in the goal during the second
half. Casey Kulinski, Jose Macias, Jon Kulinski, and Arianna
Stone were key members of a strong defense. Jimmy's Store is
now 6-1-1. Their final game of the season will be Saturday,
November 17th against Sports Palace.
Graduation Game
Torrington Youth Soccer
D Division held its First Annual Graduation Game on Saturday,
November 10, 2007. The 8th Grade Graduation team defeated the
combined 6th and 7th Grade team by a score of 7-2. During the
first half, goals were scored for the Graduates by Melissa Pfeffer,
Hunter Reece and three seperate goals by Ryan Nivolo. During
the second half, goals were scored for the 6th & 7th grade
team by Kayla Humphrey and Matt Romero. The graduates final
two goals were scored by Arianna Stone and Jose Macias. The
Graduation Game is a new tradition held by Torrington Youth
Soccer to honor its 8th grade players leaving the recreational
program to begin their high school careers. Pictures
Saturday November 3
Jimmy's Store tied Matt Baril Remodeling in their third
and final match up of the season with a score of 1-1. Both teams
played strong and ended the first half with no score. Baril
Remodeling scored first in the second half. On a corner kick
by Melissa Pfeffer, Hunter Reese scored a goal to tie the game.
Amanda Welch had four saves in goal. Defensively, Jon Kulinski,
Casey Kulinski, Kayla Humphrey, David Cilfone, and Abby Cerruto
all provided Jimmy's Store with a strong team. Nate Patenaude,
Marc Franceschet, Nick Cerruto, Jose Macias, Stephanie Synott,
Rachel MacDonald, and Will Stenson were agressive in offensive
positions. Jimmy's Store is currently 5-1-1 and have two remaining
games as they will face Scoville Plumbing and Sports Palace
to make up rain out dates.
Saturday October 13
Jimmy's Store suffered their first loss of the season during
their game with Matt Baril Remodeling with an ending score of
3-2. Stephanie Synott and Nate Patenaude scored for Jimmy's
Store during the first half bringing the game to a 2-2 tie.
Melissa Pfeffer and Amanda Welch both performed strong in goal.
Jon Kulinski, Marc Francheset, Arianna Stone, and Abigail Cerruto
all provided a strong defensive game. Offensively, Casey Kulinski,
David Cilfone, Will Stenson, Kayla Humphrey, Rachel MacDonald,
Jose Macias, Hunter Reese, and Nick Cerruto all worked to provide
shooting opportunities for their teammates.
Jimmy's Store will rematch Scoville Plumbing at 9 am on Saturday,
October 20th at Alvord Park.
Saturday October 6
Jimmy's Store defeated Sports Palace by a score of 7-1 in
their match up on Saturday, 10/6. Rachel MacDonald, Stephanie
Synott, and Nate Patenaude each scored for Jimmy's Store with
Stephanie placing another goal with an assist by Jose Macias
to end the first half 4-0. During the second half, Jonathan
Kulinski scored on a penalty kick while Hunter Reese scored
two goals with one assisted by Marc Franceschet. Kayla Humphrey,
David Cilfone, and Nick Cerruto both had several attempts on
goal. Casey Kulinski, Abigail Cerruto, Jose Macias, and Arianna
Stone all provided strong defense. Marc Fraceschet, Melissa
Pfeffer, and David Cilfone covered goal keeping duties. Jimmy's
Store will face Matt Baril Remodeling on Saturday, October 13th
at 11 am at Alvord Park.
Saturday September 29
Jimmy's Store defeated Scoville Plumbing 3 - 0 in their
second match up of the fall season. Marc Franchesschet scored
for Jimmy's Store during the first half while Arianna Stone
and Rachel MacDonald each contributed a goal in the second half.
Amanda Welch played a strong game in goal having several saves.
Jonathan Kulinski, Abby Cerruto, and Stephanie Synott all contributed
to a strong defensive line. Melissa Pfeffer, Nate Patenaude,
David Cilfone, Casey Kulinski, Jose Macias, and Kayla Humphrey
supported their team in the midfield area. Nick Cerruto, Hunter
Reece, and Will Stenson consistantly worked to keep the ball
in the offensive zone. Jimmy's Store will face Sports Palace
at 11 am on Saturday, October 6th at Alvord Park.
Saturday September 22
Jimmy's Store swept Matt
Baril Building and Remodeling in a 4-0 win on Saturday, September
22nd. Stephanie Synott, Jose Macias, and Marc Francesschet all
scored during the first half. Rachel MacDonald scored the final
point for Jimmy's Store in the second half. Melissa Pfeffer
and Amanda Welch shared goal keeping duties and both had several
saves. Arianna Stone, Hunter Reese, Jonathan Kulinski, and Abby
Cerruto all contributed to a strong defensive zone. Kayla Humphrey,
Casey Kulinski, Nathan Patenaude, William Stenson, and Nicholas
Cerruto consistently kept the ball in the offensive zone while
making several goal attempts. Jimmy's Store faces Scoville Plumbing
in a 9 am rematch on Saturday, September 29th at Alvord Park.

September 15
Despite a wet and gloomy
start, Jimmys Store defeated Sports Palace by a score
of 6-2 in the second game of the season for the D Division of
Torrington Youth Soccers recreation program. Nate Patenaude
scored for Jimmys Store in the first half. Abigail Cerruto
and Melissa Pfeffer contributed to the team final score in the
second half by adding two goals for Abigail and three goals
for Melissa. Despite injuries, Rachel MacDonald and Aamir Syed
both contributed with time on the field. Will Stenson, Casey
Kulinski, and Kayla Humphrey all contributed to ball movement
on the offensive. Jonathan Kulinski, Nicholas Cerruto, Arianna
Stone, Stephanie Synott, and Amanda Welch all worked to keep
the ball out of the defensive zone. David Cilfone had several
saves in goal. Jimmys Store plays their next game at 9
am on Saturday, September 22 at Alvord Park.
Saturday September 8
A hot opening day for the D Division Program of Torrington Youth
Soccer on Saturday, September 8th. Jimmy's Store defeated a
strong Scoville Plumbing Team 2-1. After ending the first half
in a zero tie, Hunter Reese scored both of the goals for Jimmy's
Store. The Scoville Plumbing goal came towards the end of the
second half. Abigail Cerruto, Marc Francesschet, Jonathan Kulinski,
Arianna Stone, Aamir Syed, Stephanie Synott, and Keeper Amanda
Welch all provided tough defense for Jimmy's Store. Melissa
Pfeffer, Rachel MacDonald, Nick Cerruto, Hunter Reese, and William
Stenson kept the offense moving into scoring positions. Jose
Macias, Kayla Humphrey, Casey Kulinski, Nathan Patenaude, and
David Cilfone all provided strong passing during the transition
from defense to offense. Jimmy's Store plays their next game
at 9 am at Alvord Park on Saturday, September 15th.
